The Best Helping Resources
Dr. Milton Magness, Houston, TX
Dr. Milton Magness is without a doubt the very best investment I know of to help a couple save and heal their marriage damaged by sexual addiction. A therapist in Houston, he specializes in doing three-day intensives with individual couples. We’ve seen scores of couples utilize this resource and go on to not only heal, but to thrive. The percentages are astounding compared to other sex addiction resources. You can learn more about these powerful intensives at his website, www.hopeandfreedom.com.
We encourage you to also watch his 20 short videos in which he shares on topics related to recovering from the damage this addiction does in the addict’s life, the partner’s life, and the heart of their marriage. We’re hearing rave reviews from our clients who’ve viewed them on his YouTube channel.
And you can now order his helpful books in our site store.

Sex Addicts in Ministry
Websites, blogs, and podcasts devoted to overcoming sexual addiction as well are becoming easier to find, but finding resources for the pastor or Christian leader who personally struggles with a sex addiction is much more difficult. This site hopes to fill that gap and spawn more helpful ministries—for example, support groups, phone meetings, accountability relationships, life coaching, and counseling referrals.
Recovering sex addict Pastor Darrell Brazell’s helpful free talks on sex addiction topics
Darrell presents a wealth of helpful information about a wife’s pain and healing, and many powerful no-cost presentations about the sex addict and the addiction. Each of the men’s topics are about 45 minutes long.
When you visit the site, scroll down the page to Free Teaching Downloads. We strongly recommend you listen to the first two for men if you don’t have time to hear them all. They are titled:
- Brain Science and Sex Addiction
Paul Young, Author of The Shack – Watch Paul as he vulnerably shares his sexual addiction story
Paul’s story helps us understand how early-life pain can set the stage for sexual addiction in life. As you listen to Paul’s honest vulnerability you may gain greater understanding of how your husband ended up in sex addiction.
Restarting – Ed Khouri
We encourage you to visit the Restarting program for addiction recovery. This link has a video of Ed explaining how Restarting helps heal addiction and trauma. Several of us have been trained by Ed to facilitate Restarting groups and truly believe this material offers a wonderful supplemental resource to use along with counseling.
This short video is entertaining, and might even make you laugh. But it is also packed with valuable scientific information about why so many guys who get caught up in sexual addiction lose their ability to get an erection with their wives.
Sex Addiction & Erectile Dysfunction: There is Hope!
Girls, there's good news: it isn't about you. Rather, the addiction has made changes in his brain. As you watch and listen to this information-packed video, you'll see SPECT scans of sex addicts' brains, showing the changes that take place above his eyebrows, not below his belt. And you'll also see that the damage to his brain can be reversed if—and it's a big if—he wants it badly enough to do the work it takes to reclaim his sexuality, his marriage, and your bedroom. We hope you find it as helpful as we did.
